Origin-modern mix karate is modern mix amateur karate martial system with origins in: kyokushinkai,
kyokushinbudokai, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, brazilian jiujitsu.

Origin-modern mix karate is a mix Martial system Combat Sport amateur , based on the principles of karate, boxing, bjj kick boxing. applications including aggressive striking and the use of throws, sweeps, takedowns and limited ground fighting.

MMK created 3 divisions of kumite combat competitive sports. this 3 forms are contingent on specific protections: 7 oz mma gloves + closed grid helmet or transparent screen.

1. Kumite fullcontact sport, first contact point. It is a light form of fullcontact, created for children, juniors and practitioners who come from non contact. This limited kumite fullcontact sport form makes the transition easy to a total and continuous form of fullcontact.

2. Kumite mix budo sport, this its total fight amateur, competitive form fullcontact mma amateur sport. Open to all martial arts practitioners.

3.COMBAT NE WAZA-GROUND FIGHT WITH STRIKES, SUBMISSION, WITH HELMET.

this form of competition is oriented towards practitioners of: bjj, grappling, free wrestling, judo, budokai, mmk,mma.

The official mmk (senior) competitions are held on a ring without ropes called “tatami with a height of 80 cm and a side dimension of 8 x 8 meters for the canvas. The ground around the platform is protected with mats 30 cm high and 2 meters wide, minimizing the risk of injury to athletes if they are ejected from the platform.

For smaller competitions or for certain age groups (Children & Junior) an area with the same dimensions is used, but without the raised platform.

Modern Mix Karate bases began in the 90s.
A group of coaches from eastern romania meet regularly to mix different martial principles and different fighting systems in order to make the transition from different traditional martial arts to the new trends of fullcontact amateur mma easier.
The founders are Cristian Menagachi and
Cristian Antonius Lupascu.
